Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm a 22 year old girl from Norway who has recently discovered the joy of nail art and skin care.

Step-by-step: Glitter triangles

Step-by-step: Glitter triangles

This is a very easy brown/gold glitter look!

STEP 1: PREP YOUR NAILS

Prepare your nails by removing all leftover nail polish, moisturize and apply your base coat. If you've ever worked with glitter before, you know it's a bitch to remove. Therefore I prefer to use a peel off base coat for easy removal. I've used ÜNT Ready for Takeoff Peelable Base Coat.

Apply your base colour. I have used two coats of Essie Fierce, no Fear.

STEP 2: PREPARE YOUR GLITTER

Using a makeup sponge is definitely the best way of applying glitter polish. This allows you to get maximum glitter without the transparent polish, and you'll get an opaque coat of glitter.

To get the triangles, you can use scotch tape to create a stencil.

See the sticky stuff around my nails? Liquid latex. You can buy stuff made for using with nail polish, but it is basically just liquid latex, which you can buy cheaper in bigger quantities. I would definitely recommend using this when doing a glitter look, otherwise the glitter will get everywhere.

Once you have your stencil and protection ready, it's time to sponge on the glitter! I've used Skinfood Nail Vita Alpha AGL16.

STEP 3: CLEAN UP AND SEAL

Clean up what needs to be cleaned up, apply top coat and you're done! With this glitter, I apply two generous coats of INM Out The Door Super Fast Drying Top Coat to smooth out the texture. And you're done! Using glitter is such an easy way to glam up a look, and every time I use it I end up staring at my nails all throughout the day.
